Reviews
I don’t think I can put into words how horrible this place was. Please don’t listen to the positive reviews, I lived there for five years, for those asking why it was due to a lot of external things that weren’t worth putting myself into the trouble.
Wi-Fi was consistently out, had to just call the Wi-Fi company cause the management would not do anything and I was told if I wanted to have someone come check it out that I would have to pay for it even though it was building wide.
Multiple things were broken when I had moved in and they didn’t do anything about it the whole time I lived there
Maintenance would consistently come into my apartment and HIT ON ME and followed me on instagram despite me telling them to leave me alone and leave my apartment.
Can’t tell you how many times I’ve walked in to find security asleep at the desk any time of the day and asked no ID or scan. Zero safety.
Make sure to have your roommate set up because they will stick you with anyone despite the form that was filled out. I shouldn’t have put in it that I was Jewish because no matter how polar opposite all 5 roommates I had, only thing we had in common is that we were all Jewish.
Maintenance and staff come in and out of the apartment without warning, when you’re asleep, during the day if you’re at work, no warning and have no problem moving furniture around. The building stuck me with an extremely vile and completely illegal safety and violation situation that clearly breached their lease and they didn’t do anything. Stuck me with someone who wouldn’t even clean up their own fecal matter and vomit and that’s just the beginning, all of it is just the beginning
DO NOT RENT here, I got an apartment for my son this past year and management is the worse and everything they say is just a lie and unresponsive. They are only after rent and any way to get any money from you from the most ridiculous situations. My son moved out in June and because the other roommates stayed until the end of their lease in July they trashed the place and even with pictures of what we had cleaned they want 500 from me.. like are they kidding me? I brought this to management's attention when we moved out and it came with deaf ears. I would not recommend this place at all. I would suggest that parents are involved if their child is considering renting at this location.
Stayed here as a resident for my 4 years at Temple. It’s a safe, convenient location to be at. The rooms are cozy. I suggest finding roommates through social media. (I found mine through Facebook) Some cons: front desk staff can be unfriendly. Wi-Fi works when it wants to, but this wasn’t an issue for me because the TECH center and the library was a 2-5 min walk away.
Over the past year, my roommates and I have lived at The View, but we have decided not to return. The management is unresponsive and
unhelpful. Whenever we had issues, they would take months to resolve, if they were ever resolved at all. The furniture in the apartments is cheap, and even after requesting replacement for our ripped couch cushions when we moved in, nothing has been done about it. The rooms were also dirty when we moved in, with leftover belongings from previous tenants, chipped paint, random feathers everywhere, and damaged furniture. Furthermore, the management did not provide us with the room layout that was promised, and they did not take any steps to resolve the issue. The building also has several other problems, including slow Wi-Fi, low water pressure, unpredictable water temperatures, and frequently broken elevators that can take up to 10-15 minutes. Although the location and amenities are good, I recommend looking elsewhere for better value.
great amenities and near the heart of campus! convenient and good place to live.
Honestly, as nice as it looks on the outside, it’s really not that great of a place to live. And if this review gets taken down, I can prove that I lived there because I have leases and I will post them with receipts. The management team was pretty atrocious. Every single time I went to go get a package someone was forcing me and pressuring me to resign my lease and I felt like I was walking into a sales room every time I just wanted to go get a package. The turnover is ridiculous. In two weeks. Everyone’s face can change in the entire building minus the residents obviously but you get the point. Someone set their electric stove on fire and no fire alarms went off. None of us were ever told of it. The walls are thin. You could hear peoples alarms through the apartments. It’s not worth the price.
I’ve never lived at a building with so many problems. This is one of the most expensive housing options at Temple and it isn’t worth it at all. Management is completely unresponsive. They never pick up the phone.
During the beginning of the year my AC unit was broken for two days and I was told to try to “fix it myself” by one of the people downstairs which I wasn’t comfortable doing considering I have no idea how that works.
It’s been over a week and the button to use the elevator on my floor is still broken. I’ve had to take 6 floors of stairs down this whole time. I’ve complained to management 3 times and there hasn’t been any resolution. In general there’s always at least one elevator broken to and I’ve had to wait 10+ minutes for elevators to come down.
The wifi never works because they only have one wifi for the whole building. Considering I’m paying over $1000 a month this is ridiculous. I usually have to use my phone hotspot to do assignments because it’s just to slow. I run out of my 50G of data every month because of this.
My wardrobe in my room came completely damaged and when I complained about it management said there was nothing they could do.
Please save your coin and the frustration!
The View is really nice. I will say that some leasing agreements were sketch and they are not very flexible with that, but overall it’s a nice place to live. Pet friendly depending, and in a good spot located on campus and very close to the TU station. Would recommend.
